You’ve gotten your students very nearly into the finishing line of a persuasive or writing that is argumentative, whenever you understand a few of them first got it and some of them … maybe not a great deal. Revising — well, which was the trickiest thing I started teaching writing for me to figure out when. The difficulty with getting pupils to revise efficiently frequently springs from one of two problems with your guidelines:
- You’ve been too obscure
- Do you offer students time for you to “revise & edit” their essays to “make them better” and basically leave them for their devices that are own? Some will understand how to utilize that time effortlessly, but some will flounder, uncertain of whatever they may do to create their writing better.
